What is the Idaho Assistive Technology Project?

The Idaho Assistive Technology Project (IATP) is a federally funded program administered by the Center on Disabilities and Human Development at the University of Idaho.  Our goal is to increase the availability of assistive technology devices and services for older persons and Idahoans with disabilities.

North Central Idaho Disability Mentoring Day

Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) is designed to bring students with disabilities into the workplace where they can learn about various career opportunities. Through DMD, students are paired with area professionals to learn what it means to work in a particular field through observation of a typical workday. Students have an opportunity to identify necessary skills and learn about possible internships or employment prospects.  This year the North Central Idaho Disability Mentoring Day will be held October 27 in Lewiston, Idaho.  To apply, complete the Mentee Application by September 15. Idaho Program Helps Supply Computers to Students with Disabilities

Computers for Idaho Students with DisabilitiesThe IATP is collaborating with Computers for Kids, Inc. and the SDE: Division of Special Education to offer computers to students with disabilities, grades K thru 14.   There is also a program to offer computers to rural school districts to use with students with special needs.  School districts qualify if they meet the definition of "rural" as defined in section 33-319  of Idaho law entitled, "Rural School Districts and Public Charter Schools Defined."
