What is the Idaho Assistive Technology Project?

The Idaho Assistive Technology Project (IATP) is a federally funded program administered by the Center on Disabilities and Human Development at the University of Idaho.  Our goal is to increase the availability of assistive technology devices and services for older persons and Idahoans with disabilities.

To help Idahoans with disabilities acquire the assistive technology they need to live more independent lives.

What are Assistive Devices?

Assistive Technology is any device or piece of equipment that helps individuals with disabilities and older persons to lead independent and productive lives.

What Assistive Services do we Offer?

We provide information and assistance, a used equipment exchange, an alternative financing program, assistive technology support for schools, and training events across Idaho.  Please contact us at 1-800-432-8324 for more information!

AT Expo will be in Lewiston, Dec. 2 & 3!

Join experts in the field of assistive technology at the next AT Training Expo being held December 2nd and 3rd at the Red Lion Inn, Lewiston, Idaho.  Read the Event Flyer, which includes agenda and registration form. 

Tools for Life Fair back to Boise in 2010!

The Tools for Life: Secondary Transition and Technology Fair will be returning to Boise March 1 & 2, 2010. Tools for Life is for anyone who has an interest in supporting individuals with disabilities as they transition from school to life. This includes secondary educators, post-secondary educators, special educators, therapists, counselors, service providers, job developers, other rehabilitation specialists, and especially high school students with disabilities and their families. To register download the Registration/ Stipend/ Liability Waiver form; Would you like to present or have an exhibit table at the Fair?  See the Call for Presenters and Exhibit Registration FormRead more about the Keynote Speakers and the Fair.

Computers for Kids Helps Supply Computers to Children with Disabilities

The IATP is working with Computers for Kids of Idaho to offer computers to students with disabilities, grades K thru 14.   Two programs are available in this collaboration: a) Computers are available to students for home use and, b) Computers are available to rural school districts to use with students with special needs.  School districts qualify if they meet the definition of "rural" as defined in section 33-319  of Idaho law entitled, "Rural School Districts and Public Charter Scools Defined." 

Applications must be obtained and processed through the IATP offfice in order to qualify.  Click on the appropriate application below and send to the IATP office at the address list at the top of the page:

Do you have assistive devices, like wheelchairs, walkers, maybe even an accessible vehicle you'd like to sell? Or are you on a budget (who isn't) and looking for a bargain on assistive devices?

Visit the Idaho At4All website... New items are added everyday! You can find items for loan, sale, or giveaway as well as equipment from local lending programs that can be borrowed or demonstrated to try before you buy.
