Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) is designed to bring students with disabilities into the workplace where they can learn about various career opportunities. Through DMD, students are paired with area professionals to learn what it means to work in a particular field through observation of a typical workday. Students have an opportunity to identify necessary skills and learn about possible internships or employment prospects. This year the North Central Idaho Disability Mentoring Day will be held October 27 in Lewiston, Idaho. To apply, complete the Mentee Application by September 15. Questions? Call Melisa Bryant at (208) 983-0440 ext. 3791 or email Melisa.Bryant@labor.idaho.gov.
The IATP is collaborating with Computers for Kids, Inc. and the SDE: Division of Special Education to offer computers to students with disabilities, grades K thru 14. There is also a program to offer computers to rural school districts to use with students with special needs. School districts qualify if they meet the definition of "rural" as defined in section 33-319 of Idaho law entitled, "Rural School Districts and Public Charter Schools Defined."
All applications must be obtained and processed through the IATP office in order to qualify. Click on the appropriate application below and fax or mail it to the IATP office. Please call us at 1-800-432-8324 or email Sue at sueh@uidaho.edu if you have any questions.
